Designed for anyone with communication impeding disabilities, such as autism, stroke and traumatic brain injury, as well as those that want to bridge the communication gap with them. It delivers quick, easy communication anywhere. It is an innovative application that helps individuals express their feelings, thoughts, actions and needs. Speakability is used in homes, schools and by professionals in a range of fields.
Speakability offers Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), however, it also provides you with the speech therapy resources required
to get your voice back.
Features;
• Text to Speech (AAC);
This feature allows the user to type anything they like and have Speakability speak it for them. The app also has the ability to speed up and slow down the rate at which the speech is spoken to further the accessibility of the app.
• Picture Talk (AAC);
Picture Talk has many different categories of image that the user can navigate through and then have them spoken by Speakability by simply tapping the simplistic images. E.g. Emotions, Fruit, Shapes, Common Phrases, and many more, with even more still to be added in future updates.
• Mirror Talk (Speech Therapy);
Mirror Talk uses the iPhones front facing camera to allow the user to align their face with an outline of a face. This face then animates and the user follows the animation to exercise their facial muscles. In particular, this will help people who have suffered from strokes to start to be able use their face again, and through simple exercises, learn to convey expressions.
• Word Talk (Speech Therapy);
Word Talk means your next random word to read is just a shake or tap away. And reading the word back to Speakability will show your reading volume level.
• Smile Game;
Encouraging you to smile.
• Settings;
An array of settings to make adjusting the application to your needs easy. This includes the ability to change the pitch, speed, and volume of all spoken words.
We are currently working hard on Version 3 which will bring many more features that will make the app even more accessible and enjoyable to use.
